The self-taught guitarist has played at notable venues including Carnegie Hall, the Belfast International Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. His musical style is described by Billboard Magazine as "intricate fingerpicking technique with an uncanny gift for melodic invention."

This innovative concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors. Call (847) 635-1900.

De Grassi also will hold a free class at 3 p.m. in Studio One. For information, contact Tom Clippert at clippert@oakton.edu or (847) 376-7004.
