German vino highlighted at next Wine Down Wednesday

The village of East Dundee will host its last Wine Down Wednesday of the year Sept. 24.

Six German wines from various regions in Germany will be offered, including They include a Becker Estate Pinot Noir, Weinhaus Heger Pinot Noir, Schnaitmann Lemberger, Hans Wirsching Silvaner, Mönchhof Estate Riesling, and Balthasar Ress Riesling Kabinett, Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus.

A $5 tasting fee per three wines sampled will be charged. Wines sampled will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.

A taste of Germany will be featured with small plates provided by the Anvil Club, Eventastik/ITN Deli, Blues BBQ and Grill and Sweet Pop Fizz.

Those attending the event will be entertained by a trio from Die Musikmeisters. Dressed in traditional German lederhosen, the band will perform traditional German instrumental songs.

Popular at the previous Wine Down Wednesdays were the hand-painted "Wine Down Wednesday" wineglasses. Each glass has been individually hand-painted for the event by Artisticology. The glasses are available for purchase and will be the third glass in a series of four.

"Wine Down Wednesdays have been extremely popular. It is only fitting that we follow Heritage Fest with German wine tasting at the Depot. It'll be a great way to end our monthly summer event season and move into fall," said Lael Miller, village president of East Dundee.

Wine Down Wednesdays, sponsored by The Anvil Club, Payroll Vault and Artisticology, will feature three dimensional artists demonstrating their artistic abilities throughout the evening.

For those who would like to try their creative talents, register for a group art class. If interested, contact Tricia at Artisticology, (847) 707-4433 or tricia@artisicology.com.
