Volunteers needed to lead Batavia MainStreet House Walk
The eighth annual 2014 Batavia MainStreet House Walk will feature five distinctive homes in Batavia and a tea at Water Street Studios. The walk is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.
Here is a short glimpse at the homes you will see on the walk - A rehabbed Georgian set on an expansive lot in Tanglewood surprises with a stunning two-story great room addition; touches of industrial chic are evident in a rescued 1928 red brick two-story that was empty for nearly 12 years; A circa 1900 white clapboard beauty sports modern updates and plenty of family history; a major kitchen remodel and three-season room addition renews a tired 1970s Colonial; and the "Ravine House" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1906 at the height of his Prairie School period.
With all these homes, a lot of help will be needed.
