Sprint won't take part in November airwaves auction
Sprint Corp. won't take part in a U.S. airwaves auction set for November, a spokesman said.
The auction of airwaves useful for smartphones is to be the largest since a sale in 2008, according to the Federal Communications Commission. The agency also plans to auction airwaves relinquished by television stations next year.
"Sprint has decided not to participate in the FCC's AWS-3 auction but will continue to evaluate the opportunities presented by the upcoming 600 MHz incentive auction," Jeffrey Silva, a spokesman for the company, said in an email.
