Veterans to be honored Sept. 19 before Maine West football game

Maine West High School will honor military veterans prior to the "Red, White, and Blue" varsity football game Sept. 19.

Veterans will arrange on the field in the order of their era, from most recent to World War II, and members of the Maine West Warrior football team and coaches will greet them. Four veterans, each from a different combat era, will conduct the ceremonial coin toss, District 207 officials said.

Veterans and spouses are welcome at no charge; no organizational affiliation is required. Veterans are asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m. The game starts at 7 p.m.
