McGinnis to join Elmhurst Chamber board of directors

ELMHURST, Ill., September 4, 2014-Diane McGinnis, Community and Government Relations, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare (155 East Brush Hill Road), has been appointed to fill a vacated seat on the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry's board of directors.

Her appointment by Chairman of the Board Julie Miller of Patrick T. Sheehan & Associates was approved during the board's August 12 meeting at the chamber.

McGinnis, who will be sworn in at the September 9 Board meeting, will serve out the three-year term of Tracy Musso. Musso, who was elected to a first term in October of 2012 following her 2011 appointment to fill a Board vacancy, resigned as EMHC's Manager of Development to join her family's business in Utah.

As EMHC's Community and Government Relations person, McGinnis liaisons with resident, businesses and elected officials at all level of government.

McGinnis serves on the Chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee and is an appointed member of the City of Elmhurst's Economic Development Commission.

Elmhurst's Ambassador of the Year recipient for 2005, McGinnis also represents EMHC with the chambers of commerce in Addison, Lombard, Oak Brook, Villa Park and Westchester.

Prior to joining EMHC in 2000, McGinnis served the American Cancer Society, DuPage County, first as a Field Representative (1993-98) and then as Executive Director (1998-2000).

McGinnis also served as a Legislative Assistant to then-State of Illinois House of Representatives members Bob Biggins (1993) and Dan Cronin (1991-93).

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.

The mission of the Chamber is to promote an environment that creates success for local businesses and our community.
