Neubert students celebrates 'Summer of Learning'

On Aug. 27, Kenneth E. Neubert Elementary School in Algonquin celebrated summer learning to recognize and celebrate those students who took the initiative to continue their learning over the summer.

Learning loss over the summer break occurs if students do not practice their skills and continue reading or working on mathematics.

Students were encouraged to participate in TenMarks' online math program, Xtra-math online, and the Summer Reading Program planned by Neubert's media teacher Bridget Demetriou and the media paraeducato, Tracey Moore.

Students received a certificate, a keepsake charm, and made their own ice cream sundaes. This event was an opportunity to recognize the students and celebrate learning.
