Armando Gomez scored 3 goals and added an assist, as Mundelein's boys soccer team defeated Carmel 6-2 on Tuesday.
Mason Homsey added a goal and 2 assists for the Mustangs, while Jesus Alba and Yoshio Jimenez also scored. Stephen Wald assisted on a pair of goals for Mundelein.
Wauconda 7, North Chicago 3: Gio Marquez scored twice for the host Bulldogs in their own tournament.
Wauconda (2-3), which built a 4-2 lead by halftime, also got goals from Luis Mendoza, Alsonso Sanchez, Teddy Colarov, Hector Sanchez and Max Bermann.
Lakes 0, Waukegan 0: Jack Monson made 8 saves in earning the shutout for Lakes (0-3-1).
Grant 2, Harvard 1 (PKs): The Bulldogs opened their own tournament by prevailing 2-1 in penalty kicks.
Zack Kowalik scored unassisted for Grant's only goal in regulation.
Deerfield 3, Vernon Hills 1: Angel Herrera scored the lone goal for the Cougars, who lost in "the last 10 minutes of the game," coach Mike McCaulou said.
Brennan Reback had 8 saves in goal for Vernon Hills (3-3).
