Seminar for Home Healthcare Providers September 24th

The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont will once again be the site of a home healthcare industry seminar on September 24th hosted by the Health Law practice group at Lavelle Law, Ltd. The seminar will focus on key legal and regulatory aspects of the growing industry.

Presenters at the seminar include attorneys Ted McGinn and Matthew Sheahin, both Partners at Lavelle Law, Leigh Roadman, a Partner at Martin, Brown, Sullivan, Roadman & Hartnett, Ltd, and Sharon Harder, President of C3 Advisors.

McGinn will focus on the importance of well-crafted contracts for home healthcare providers. He manages the Health Law practice group at Lavelle Law and has been involved in the industry for more than a dozen years. Breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements will be presented by Sheahin who was named a Super Lawyer in Illinois for 2014, the fourth time he has been recognized in that manner by his peers. Roadman will discuss medical fraud and home healthcare businesses while Harder will call upon her two decades of advising businesses in this industry as she covers the survey process they encounter. The panel will be moderated by Kerry Lavelle, the founding partner at Lavelle Law, Ltd.

McGinn, who coordinates the event, was pleased with the turnout at last year's seminar and expects an even more robust gathering this year. "I think we've assembled a terrific panel of speakers and I look forward to sharing our collective knowledge and experience with home healthcare operators from around the state."

The event is scheduled to run from 2:00 until 5:00 pm with a social reception following from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Registration is open until September 12th by contacting Heather Slipkevych at 847-705-7555 or hslipkevych@lavellelaw.com. The attendance fee is $50 per person. Clients of Lavelle Law can bring a guest for no additional charge.

"There are a number of legal, tax and regulatory issues that impact operators in this business," said Sheahin. "We look forward to an open and informative discussion with our guests."
