Lake property tax bills due Sept. 5

The second installment of Lake County property taxes is due Friday, Sept. 5.

Payment options include: by mail to the Lake County Treasurer's office, 18 N. County St., Waukegan, 60085; online or by e-check at www.lakecountyil.gov/treasurer (a processing fee will be charged); in person at most Lake County banks (bring original or copy of bill); at drop boxes at the county building in downtown Waukegan or at the Libertyville campus off Winchester Road (must pay by check and include tax bill stub in sealed envelope); or, by phone at (877) 690-3729, transaction code 7021.

A second bill will not be mailed to homeowners. Late payments must include a 1.5 percent penalty.
