Notre Dame to hold out 5th player in investigation
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Reserve safety Eilar Hardy has joined four other Notre Dame players being withheld from practice and games as the university investigates possible academic dishonesty and NCAA violations.
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said during a news conference Thursday that Hardy was not at practice. He played in 10 games last season, starting against Pittsburgh and BYU, and finished with 26 tackles. He did not play as a freshman or sophomore.
Kelly said the investigation is completed and he's confident no other players are involved. The players now will go before the school's honor code council.
