Des Plaines surveying residents on city's needs, assets
Des Plaines residents, business owners, and other stakeholders are being invited to take a survey for use in developing a city marketing and branding plan.
The survey asks respondents for their opinions on what they believe to be Des Plaines' greatest challenges, opportunities for growth, assets and prospects for economic development.
The city's marketing consultant, North Star Destination Strategies, also is planning to host focus groups with aldermen and community members, create subnarratives for use in marketing materials, and alter or create a new city logo. The firm is being paid $88,000.
