Passengers flee one-vehicle crash in Palatine

A Ford Explorer involved in a rollover crash Saturday afternoon near Gardenia Lane and Capri Drive in Palatine was abandoned in the road by its driver, police said.

Shortly after the one-vehicle crash, two or three people in the car fled the damaged SUV, police Sgt. Jason Watson said. The group was gone before Palatine Fire Department paramedics arrived.

There is no danger to the area, Watson added.

Police continue to investigate.
