Abbott, Bandits edge Racers

The Chicago Bandits capitalized a couple of miscues by the Akron Racers to earn a 2-1 win Thursday night in Rosemont.

Trailing 1-0, the Bandits (30-16) tied the game in the third when Tammy Williams singled to drive home Amber Patton. Emily Allard singled, stole second, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error with what proved to be the winning run.

Monica Abbott went the distance, allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 10 strikeouts as she posted her 10th win of the season.
