71-year-old man hurt in Aurora shooting
A 71-year-old man was injured Monday night when multiple bullets were fired at an Aurora home, officials said Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the 800 block of Spruce and the man suffered a graze wound in his thigh from one of the bullets. according to an email from Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli. The man was inside his home at the time of the shooting.
Damage totaled $500, and the man was treated at the scene.
At the time of the Monday night incident, three women, ages 16, 57 and 38, and two men, ages 23 and 36, were at home with the 71-year-old man.
They were all related except for the 23-year-old man.
A person wearing a dark shirt, gray and white sweatpants and a dark baseball hat was seen walking from the scene right after the shots were fired, according to the email.
A previous shooting occurred in the area on July 22, according to Ferrelli, when the residence's detached garage and another home's fence and garage were hit by gunfire. No one was injured during this July incident.
The Monday shooting was not believed to be random.
