Side Street Studio Arts welcomes photography club

Thanks to marked growth and support from the Elgin community, Elgin 360 Photography Club recently announced a new partnership with Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin, to host the club's monthly meetings beginning Thursday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. The topic will be "Epic Event Photography" by Keith French.

Downtown Elgin has always been the place to be for epic special events, including the Elgin Fringe Festival, a multi-disciplined arts festival taking place Sept. 11-14 and organized by Side Street Studio Arts members.

Photographer Keith French will discuss event photography tips and demonstrate simple techniques to help any photographer capture the excitement of shooting events such as live performances, weddings and parades.

In September, Elgin 360 Photography Club members will put these tips to work as official photographers for all of the events and happenings at this year's Elgin Fringe Festival.

Elgin 360 Photography Club's monthly meetings will be held the second Thursday of each month and are open to photography buffs of all experience levels, from beginning hobbyists to advanced pros.

Attendees are also invited to come early and enjoy dinner at a downtown Elgin restaurant with other Elgin 360 members to continue to help support local business.
