Jazz Consortium at Palatine's Durty Nellie's Aug. 10

The summer concert season may be winding down, but the Jazz Consortium Big Band continues its swinging ways in its monthly slot at Durty Nellie's Pub, 180 N. Smith St, Palatine, this Sunday, August 10, 6:00-9:00pm. $10 cover, or $5 for students 17 and under. Website, www.durtynellies.com. Phone, 847.358.9150, ext. 0.

Although the Jazz Consortium has been featured in concerts and venues throughout Chicagoland the last few months (including the prestigious Jazz Showcase nightclub), Durty Nellie's remains its monthly home base the second Sunday each month. The 17-member group's performance is always open to all ages, and features Big Band sounds from the Swing era to modern-day Big Band selections. Food service is available throughout the band's performance.
