Hanover Park police investigating break-in at strip mall

Hanover Park police are searching for four men they say broke into a store on the 2000 block of Irving Park Road and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones.

Police were called to the business about 2:20 a.m. Monday after the burglary tripped off a store alarm. Responding officers found the store's front window was broken, Deputy Police Chief Tom Cortese said. No one was inside the shop, which police are not naming, citing the investigation.

After police contacted the owner, investigators determined cash and cellphones were taken, Cortese said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Hanover Park police at (630) 823-5500.
