Former Comedian to Present Program on How Seniors Can Manage Stress

The Holmstad, a faith-based, nonprofit continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, will host a free lecture on Aug. 21 that will describe ways in which senior adults can reduce stress and achieve life balance.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. and will feature Will Miller, Ph.D. A therapist, instructor at Purdue University and former comedian, Dr. Miller's presentation will combine groundbreaking research with hilarious comedy. In a program packed with practical advice on achieving equilibrium, he will show how the key to improved quality of life is rooted in our social support network - our real and claimed family.

Miller has five graduate degrees: master's in clinical social work, Columbia University; master of divinity, Union Theological Seminary; master's in health psychology, Walden University; and a master's and doctorate in urban education and studies, University of Massachusetts. He trained in psychoanalysis and completed studies at the Rutgers University School of Addiction Studies. He authored three books, a book chapter and contributions to many publications and news programs. During 16 years as a headline comedian in New York City, Miller toured the country, appeared on countless comedy programs, was the on-air spokesman for the Nick-At-Nite TV network and hosted the NBC program "The Other Side."

The Holmstad is located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia. For more information or to RSVP, please call 877-226-7310 or visit www.TheHolmstad.org.
