What a great thing for BG police to do

They serve, they protect and they have HEART! What a winning combination Buffalo Grove presents. That's why my family lives here.

(Other communities) are all business, professional and dedicated, with a meaningful missing ingredient that makes a world of difference.

As an example, yesterday as reported in the Daily Herald, the BG Police Department went out of their way and allowed 7-year-old Adam Brodersen from Palatine (he has a heart defect), to be sworn in as an officer for the day. He received the "royal treatment."

I won't be able to put into words what that means to him and his family other than a lifetime memorable experience, but to me - I'm proud to list BG as my hometown. Taking the extra step will always add to the purpose of a real community and that's the lesson for other villages to take it to the next level.
