Beer, demolition derby close out Lake County Fair

Visitors at the Lake County Fair's final day Sunday were able to enjoy libations in a new way - the fair's first craft beer festival.

Fair organizers invited 25 craft breweries from the Chicago area and elsewhere to serve their finest selections Sunday. The inaugural beer fest joined the traditional demolition derby at fair's grandstand as highlights of the final day of the 82nd edition of the annual fair.

Fairgoers also were able to listen to live music or watch a magic act; stop and say hello to farm animals in each of the four livestock barns; and enjoy carnival rides, games, food, blue-ribbon competitions, bingo and shopping.
