Arlington Heights man sentenced to probation for molesting girl
An Arlington Heights man convicted last month of sexually molesting an 11-year-old girl in 2012 was sentenced Thursday to 30 months probation.
Cook County Judge Thomas Fecarotta also ordered Orlando Monte, 47, to participate in sex offender counseling and to have no contact with anyone younger than 18. Fecarotta also ordered Monte to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Monte had no previous criminal background, prosecutors said.
Police arrested Monte in November after the victim disclosed the abuse to a friend and to school authorities, prosecutors said during Monte's bond hearing last year.
