Run/walk will benefit Children's Advocacy Center

Lake County Children's Advocacy Center will host a fun run and walk Saturday, Aug. 16. The Color the Park 5-kilometer event will be at Hunt Club Park in Gurnee. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by the run/walk at 9 a.m. Participants will follow a course while blasts of colored powder are launched in their direction. Registration is $25 per person or $20 each for groups of six or more. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center, a division of the state's attorney's office that investigates and provides services to young abuse victims.
