Summer book drive:

The Vernon Hills Park District's Summer of Service day camp for students in grades 5-8 hosts a book drive through July 21. The camp program is partnering with Bernie's Book Bank of Lake Forest to organize a book drive in hopes of collecting 10,000 books. Deposit books in receptacles provided at park district locations including the Lakeview Fitness Center, 700 Lakeview Parkway and the Laschen Community Center, 294 Evergreen Drive and Sullivan, 635 N. Aspen Drive Community Center. New and gently used books for age's birth through sixth grade will be accepted. Please do not donate workbooks, text books or reference books.
