Bandits rally to top Rebellion

Amber Patton scored the winning run on an error as the host Chicago Bandits rallied for a 6-5 victory in 10 innings and a series sweep over the Pennsylvania Rebellion on Sunday in Rosemont.

Down 4-0 in the sixth, Patton, Emily Allard (4-for-5) and Danielle Zymkowitz had RBI singles for the Bandits (17-9). Brittany Cervantes, who leads the NPF in homers, belted a 2-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to even the score at 4-4 and send the game into extra innings. The Bandits' Kristen Butler had an RBI single that retied the score in the eighth. Monica Abbott was the winning pitcher in relief, working 2⅓ scoreless innings on 1 hit with 6 strikeouts.

The Bandits hit the road for two weeks with series against the USSSA Pride and the Rebellion. They return to the Ballpark at Rosemont on July 31 to host the USSSA Pride at 7:05 p.m.
