Kane County Master Gardeners share their ideas

The Kane County Master Gardeners' Idea Garden provided inspiration for vegetation-loving visitors Tuesday in St. Charles.

The Idea Garden featured combinations of flowers, herbs and vegetables in eight projects designed to replicate easily at home. This year's gardens were planted with themes, including cocktail, marinara, "three sisters" and fantastic foliage.

"The goal is to experiment and then share our ideas with the community," master gardener Margaret Ann Hass said.

The master gardeners also use many of the vegetables and plants grown in the garden in programs with area food pantries, schools and senior centers.

The garden is at the corner of Peck Road and Route 38. Two more similar sessions will be conducted this summer.
