The annual Mundelein Community Days kicked-off Thursday at Kracklauer Park with live musical performances, the "Mundelein Munch" with food and drink tents, carnival rides and craft activities for children.
The McNulty Irish Dancers, a magic show with Steve Belliveau, fire engine rides, face painting by Just For Fun, and the bands Samadhi Vibe and the Modern Day Romeos on the main stage were among the day's featured events.
"I think it's going to be the best ever," said Mundelein Assistant Village Administrator Mike Flynn. "The days line up well with the 4th of July on Friday. We have made a few improvements to make it better than last year."
The celebration culminates Sunday with the Mundelein Community Days Parade traveling along Hawley Street to Mundelein High School.
