Preschoolers learn about nature in CFC day camp

Citizens for Conservation offered a Leave No Child Inside-oriented preschool camp the week of June 9.

The setting of CFC headquarters offered wonderful opportunities for the children to interact with and learn about nature and the environment. The themes for the week included trees, mammals, birds, butterflies and insects.

Susan Lenz and her son, Nicholas, created and facilitated a hands-on, nature-based curriculum with each day consisting of stories, hands-on materials, crafts, songs, games and of course a hike, using all of the children's senses, through beautiful Flint Creek Savanna.
