Huntley driver hits car, house with truck

A 23-year-old Huntley man faces several charges after police said he ran a stop sign Monday evening before hitting a car with his truck and plowing into a nearby house before fleeing the scene.

The truck hit the Huntley home's gas meter, causing a leak and power outage, and displacing its resident, police said.

Adam K. Domini, of the 9600 block of Bennington Drive, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to give information after hitting property, disobeying a stop sign and driving an uninsured vehicle, police said.

He was released after posting $150 bond and is due in court July 25 in Woodstock, Deputy Police Chief Mike Klunk said.

Police said Domini was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram west on Bennington Drive when it went through a stop sign and struck a 2003 Honda Civic that was headed north. The crash caused the truck to veer north and into the corner of a house on the 10100 block of Bennington Drive, police said.

The driver of the Honda did not report any injuries.

Police responded to the accident at 6:30 p.m., but Domini had already left, police said. Officers found him 20 minutes later walking in the neighborhood, Klunk said. Domini suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment, according to police.

Nicor workers arrived to repair the gas leak. The home's resident was displaced for the night and the structure was boarded up temporarily, police said. A damage estimate for the house, the car and the truck were not available Tuesday.
