  Dennis McFarlane of Lombard assembles his 1/4 scale Piper Cub Civil Air Patrol plane to fly in the Fox Valley Aero Club's Windy City Warbird and Classics model airplane show in St. Charles on Friday. McFarlane built his first model airplane when he was six years old. His father, a native of Scotland, was a WWII pilot with the Royal Air Force and was asked by the United States to fly with the 8th Air Force (being granted citizenship as the bargaining tool) and flew a B-17.   A B-25 Mitchell 1/5 scale plane owned by Paul LeTourneau of Oconto, WI flies past the crowd at the Fox Valley Aero Club's Windy City Warbird and Classics model airplane show. It has a 162" wing span, weighs 110 pounds and sports twin cylinder engines with 10HP each. LeTourneau built the plane from scratch 11 years ago and has been flying for about 20 years.   Bill Suhr of Palatine retrieves a SPAD 13 biplane (WWI era) from the landing strip, serving as "air boss for retrieval." Suhr, a member of the club for the past three years, has been flying model planes since 1975. The plane is owned by Chad Asmus of Menomonie, WI, who has flown with the aero club several times before.
