Spend Sunday afternoon with Ben Franklin at Batavia library

The Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., has announced the summer entertainment lineup for adults.

This summer, "Sundays on Stage," the Batavia Public Library's popular entertainment series includes a visit from Ben Franklin, Marilyn Monroe and the rockin' music from the 1950s.

"The Amazing Dr. Franklin" will be presented at 2 p.m. June 29. Actor R.J. Lindsay portrays America's most clever ambassador, Benjamin Franklin. With a wink and a smile, Ben Franklin shares stories of his youth, inventions, and folks of the revolution - cantankerous John Adams, bilious Arthur Lee, the bumbling British, the fascinating French, and the double-dealing Dutch.

At 2 p.m. on July 27, the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe comes alive when Sheri Winklemann sings and shimmies during this delightful portrayal of an American legend. Winklemann's has portrayed Monroe all over the world including the Caribbean and Dubai.

"The Fabulous Fifties" will be revisited at 2 p.m. Aug. 24, when the Chi-town Gals sing and dance to the music of that a-rockin' and a-rollin' decade. This high-energy show features music from Bill Haley and the Comets, Aretha Franklin, and others, as well as hula-hoops, twisting, and the hand-jive.

All programs are free, however, registration is required. Register online at BataviaPublicLibrary.org or call (630) 879-1393, ext. 200.
