New charges in overdose death:

A Gurnee-area man was arrested Saturday and charged in the drug-overdose death of a Waukegan man that occurred in March, police said. Haitham Qasem, 27, of the 36000 block of Douglas Terrace, was charged in a warrant with delivering a controlled substance and drug-induced homicide. The charges stemmed from the March 14 death of 22-year-old Christopher R. Tiskus in Waukegan, police said in a news release. A second suspect, Kareem Perkins, 30, of the 5200 block of Solomon Court in Gurnee, has been facing charges in the death since March. He's charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and drug-induced homicide.
