Students create mobile app for Wheeling High School

Two Wheeling High School students have developed a free Android-supported app that gives users access to school information from the website.

Advanced Placement computer science students Andrew Schwartz (junior) and Tomasz Ciepiela (senior) created the app with assistance from Zebra Technologies Software Engineer Ryan Brock and teacher JoAnne McNamee.

Brock has volunteered numerous hours over the past several months mentoring both students and acting as project manager.

The mobile app, available on the Google Play Store, provides parents, staff, and community members with school information, such as upcoming events, news articles, daily announcements, emergency notifications, and more.
