Dundee Township opens summer Concerts in the Park June 13 with Heart tribute band

Start your weekend off with a free live concert in the park!

The Dundee Township Park District will host Concerts in the Park from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, picnic or folding chair.

On June 13, Heartless will perform at Grafelman Park, Fourth and Main streets in West Dundee. No other Midwest band can deliver the Wilson sisters classic sounds, from the driving beat, the burning guitar riffs and the soaring signature vocals. This concert is co-sponsored by the village of West Dundee.

On June 20, DuPage will perform the timeless sounds of Motown to today's most popular adult contemporary and alternative hits at Lions Park, 570 Penny Road, East Dundee. DuPage plays songs that draw audiences of all ages. It is co-sponsored by the village of East Dundee.

On Saturday, June 28, there will be a concert and fireworks. Enjoy Classical Blast from 7:30 to 9 p.m., followed by the fireworks show at 9:30 p.m., at Meadowdale Park and shopping center, Besinger Drive and Maple Avenue in Carpentersville. It is a four-piece band dedicated to bringing the classical arts to mainstream rock and pop music. Their style, technique and tools breathe new life into rock music as well as other classics.

The rain date for the fireworks is Sunday, June 29, at approximately 9 p.m. The fireworks show may begin up to 30 minutes early or be delayed up to one hour due to inclement weather. Food and drinks will be sold by the Dundee Township Lions Club. All proceeds will benefit the community.

On July 11, enjoy Live Band Karaoke at Grafelman Park in West Dundee. Singing is only half the fun! Watching others performing their renditions of rock's greatest songs also contributes to the hilarity. Combining the silly fun of karaoke with the energy of a live rock band, Live Band Karaoke allows anyone to fulfill their rock and roll fantasy. A singalong "Annie" movie will be shown at 9 p.m. It is co-sponsored by the village of West Dundee.

On July 18, Saturday June Band will play an eclectic mix of the 1960s through current songs and featuring Jami Dawn at Grafelman Park. It is co-sponsored by the village of West Dundee.

On July 25, celebrate 50 years of the Beatles with ShinDig, a tribute band to the best American and British invasion music of the 1960s, at Grafelman Park in West Dundee. Featuring five vocalists ShinDig delivers family friendly hits from the best bands of that time period. It is co-sponsored by the village of West Dundee.

On Aug. 1, Billy Croft and the Five Alarm will offer current country chartbusters, country rock legends, and their own rockin' originals at Lions Park in East Dundee. The movie, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2," will be shown at 9 p.m. It is co-sponsored by the village of East Dundee.

On Aug. 8, Tropixplosion, a Caribbean show band, features steel drums, percussion, vocals, and Blue Man-style performance pieces. Not only your tropical favorites, but many reggae classics and pop/rock party songs rearranged and performed with an exotic twist. The concert, co-sponsored by the village of East Dundee, will be at Lions Park.
