Lindenhurst man killed in Lake Villa Township crash

A Lindenhurst man was killed Monday in a crash on Grass Lake Road in Lake Villa Township, the Lake County Sheriff's office said. The Lake County Coroner's Office identified the victim as William S. Klinesmith, 58. He was traveling east on Grass Lake Road in a green 1999 Ford Ranger before the truck entered the westbound lanes and collided with a red 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded at approximately 4 p.m. to the report of the crash. Both drivers were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where Klinesmith was pronounced dead. No information was available on the other driver, officials said. The accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
