Last day for native plant sale:

Conserve Lake County's second annual native plant sale ends it run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Almond Marsh Forest Preserve, 32492 N. Almond Road, Grayslake. Discounts are being offered on native plants, heirloom vegetables and leaf mulch. Native plants attract birds, bees and wildlife. Proceeds support Conservation@Home, which helps Lake County residents incorporate eco-friendly practices into their home and business landscapes. Guided tours will be held for the entire event and bird watching is from 9 a.m. to noon. The programs, "Plant Selection: Best Plant, Best Place" will be at 10 a.m. and "Gardening for Wildlife: Butterflies and Birds" is at 1 p.m. Visit www.conservelakecounty.org/
