Hoffman Estates receives 2014 Emerald Award

On May 15, the U.S. Green Building Council - Illinois recognized Hoffman Estates with its "Intent to Matter: Outstanding Small Organization" award for its significant strides in promoting green building development and cutting edge energy code programs.

Mayor Bill McLeod accepted the Emerald Award at the council chapter's annual event, Limelight, held at the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

The Emerald Awards program is a showcase of the best and brightest contributors to a more sustainable environment by recognizing outstanding individuals, organizations, projects and technologies implemented across Illinois.
