'Clean coal' deal was a bad deal

Wake up call for Geneva and Batavia:

We are among many cities that have been bamboozled by Peabody Energy that sold us on "clean coal" energy. We are not only partial owners to a growing mountain of coal waste on a 740 acres in southern Illinois, we are liable for their cost overruns, which to date exceeds $2 million for Geneva alone.

Call your city reps. Only our city councils can get us out of this contract.
