Winchester Road closure:

The railroad crossing on Winchester Road west of Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville will close for 14 days beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 5. The closure is necessary for Metra and the road contractor to expand the crossing as part of a road widening project. The detour will be Butterfield Road to Route 137 to Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue). Eastbound local traffic from Butterfield Road will be allowed on Winchester Road up to the closure. Westbound traffic on Winchester Road from Milwaukee Avenue will have access to the Libertyville Township offices and Lake County public works facility. Winchester Road is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. Visit www.lakecountyil.gov.
