Hoffman Estates man pleads guilty to impersonating officer
A Hoffman Estates man who impersonated a police officer in a Walgreens store drive-through lane last month has pleaded guilty, court records show.
Charles Poremba, 56, an honorably discharged Gulf War veteran with no criminal background, was sentenced to one year conditional discharge - a type of probation - in exchange for his guilty plea Wednesday to the class 4 felony, according to court records. He was also ordered to pay $369 in fines and perform community service.
