Fuller, Bears agree on 4-year deal

And then there was one.

After first-round draft pick Kyle Fuller agreed to terms Wednesday with the Bears on a four-year contract, third-round defensive tackle Will Sutton is the only one of the team's eight draft picks who has yet to come to an agreement.

The contract terms for Fuller, the 14th overall pick in the draft, were not released. But the 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback's deal is expected to be similar to that of last year's 14th overall pick, Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Star Lotulelei.

That four-year deal was worth $4.11 million, including a $1.31 million signing bonus. Fuller's deal includes a club option for a fifth year. He is the first 2014 first-round pick to agree to terms.

Fuller started 41 games for Virginia Tech but just eight last season when he was sidelined by a sports hernia that is not expected to affect him during this weekend's rookie minicamp that begins Friday.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in February, Fuller ran a 4.49-second 40 and had a 38½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8-inch broad jump. But he only managed 12 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, although he was a tough and willing tackler in run support.

He had 173 career tackles, including 129 solos, 4½ sacks and 23½ tackles for loss to go with 6 interceptions, 21 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He also blocked 3 kicks and recovered one for a touchdown.

On Tuesday, the Bears reached agreement with second-round defensive tackle Ego Ferguson, fourth-round running back Ka'Deem Carey, sixth-round punter Pat O'Donnell and seventh-round offensive tackle Charles Leno, Jr. On Monday, fourth-round safety Brock Vereen and sixth-round quarterback David Fales reached contract terms with the Bears.
