Cougars split pair with Timber Rattlers

APPLETON, Wis. - The Kane County Cougars (29-16) scored only 2 runs combined in their doubleheader, but they split with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Fox Cities Stadium. The Timber Rattlers won the opener 11-1, and the Cougars earned a 1-0 win in Game 2.

In the nightcap, the Cougars (29-16) scored the game-winner in the ninth inning. Carlos Penalver walked with two outs, stole second and scored when Ben Carhart singled. Reliever James Pugliese (2-0) worked 2 perfect innings to get the victory.
