Driving course teaches safety

A two-day driving course will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 15, at St. Matthew Lutheran School, 24480 N. Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods. Drivers will increase their confidence, learn safe practices and research-based safety strategies that can reduce the likelihood of having an accident. Participants will understand the links between the driven vehicle and road environment, and how this awareness encourages safer behavior. Drivers also will learn about the newest safety and advanced features that are already available to them in their vehicles. The fee is $20 for an AARP member and $25 for nonmembers.
