St. James school launches mobile app

Families of students at St. James Catholic school in Arlington Heights will now be able to keep up with what is going in their kids' classrooms from their phones.

The school launched a mobile app on May 1 for parents, students and the community, said Kevin Dillon, IT chair of the school council.

The app includes a way for parents to check their students' grades, summer reading lists and download important forms as well as look up teacher contact information, order lunch and see the schedule of Mass times, Dillon said.

Dillon said the app has been in the works for about six months, and is an effort not only to reach current families, but also prospective families and help them find information about the school.

The app can be downloaded by visiting the school's website, www.stjamesschoolah.org, on any mobile device.
