New business chief for Des Plaines Park District

The Des Plaines Park District has hired Katie Skibbe as its new superintendent of business.

Skibbe was assistant finance director for the village of Buffalo Grove for the past six years, and before that, accounting manager for the Des Plaines Park District for three years. She began her new job for the park district May 1.

Skibbe is responsible for overseeing the district's budget, investment strategy, financial position and systems, according to a news release. She will supervise a full-time staff of eight and report to the executive director.
