Barrington nets third straight West crown

After a scoreless first half, Barrington produced a second-half flurry of goals to wrap up its third straight Mid-Suburban West girl soccer title on Monday.

The host Fillies got goals from Jenna Szczesny, Nicole Niro and Elise Ackermann in a 3-1 decision against visting Fremd.

Carrie Madden assisted on the first two goals, and Alex Avers and Mia Calamari each got the assists on Ackermann's goal.

The Fillies improved to 12-2-2 overall and meet the Mid-Suburban League's overall leader, Hersey, on Wednesday.

Conant 5, Rolling Meadows 1: Emily Mazurek scored twice, and Conant (9-5-2 overall) got single goals from Sidney O'Keeffe, Drew Wentzel and Bianco Madonia in MSL action.
