Renew Hope Announces 7th Annual 10-5k Run/Walk

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., (May 2, 2014)- Renew Hope Inc., is hosting its annual race on Saturday, May 24, 2014. The race, Ruth's Run, will be held at the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville, at 8:30 a.m.

This event features a 10k run and a 5k run/walk, including two different courses for each distance. The entrance to the park is located on St. Mary's Road on the Libertyville/Lake Forest border.

"Proceeds from this race are going to help kids in Haiti, grades K-10, obtain an education at the Spirit of Truth School in Gilbert, Haiti," said Renew Hope President, Brian Caudle.

Renew Hope works in the lives of Haiti's children by providing educational and spiritual growth, meeting physical needs, and supporting community development and empowerment programs. The school, founded by Caudle's late wife, Ruth, has about 450 children and is supported through donations. The cost of sending one student to school with tuition, books, and a hot daily lunch is $9.17 per month, so a little bit goes a long way.

Sponsored by Photos Hotdogs in Palatine, food, drinks, and music are just some of the special touches that make this race enjoyable for all age groups. With activities for children, including: painting, games and goodies; this family friendly event is the perfect way to start your weekend. The great part is your participation will make a difference in the lives of these children. After the race, top runners will be presented with metals and prizes during the awards ceremony.
