MacArthur Band Travels to Prestigious Competition

On May 9th, the MacArthur Middle School Band will be traveling it Urbana, IL in order to perform in the Illinois Superstate Concert Band Festival. MacArthur is one of nine middle school bands chosen from the state of Illinois. Bands apply through audition recordings and are chosen by merit. The band will be critiqued by four judges from nationally renown universities as they perform in the Krannert Center of Performing Arts at University of Illinois. Each year, one band is chosen to be the honor band. MacArthur has attended this Festival five times and has been chosen as the honor band once.
