South Elgin, Bartlett prevail

South Elgin 12, Streamwood 5: The Storm (7-7, 5-5) pushed across 4 runs in the second inning off 2 errors and Danny Asa's RBI single sandwiched between made the difference in an Upstate Eight crossover win.

Asa finished 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Justin Bryski (2-for-4, 2 RBI) nailed a 2-run homer in the fifth and Nick Menken doubled 1 of his 2 hits. The Sabres (6-12, 4-8) jumped out to a 1-0 first inning lead thanks to Eric Hamlin's solo blast but the offense managed just 4 runs on 8 hits thereafter.

Anthony Flores (2-for-4) doubled, along with Kevin Sojda and Collin Tatone, who was 4-for-4 with 2 runs scored.

Bartlett 13, East Aurora 1: A 6-run fourth inning completed 5-inning win and a 3-game sweep for the Hawks (8-8, 7-6) in Upstate Eight Valley action. Trevor Svetic (2-for-4) homered, doubled, scored 2 runs and drove in 3 RBI while Jordan Flint homered, scored 3, walked twice and punched across 2 RBI.

Bartlett accounted for 8 extra base hits in total as Mike Wick, Jake Barrutia, Robbie Euliano and Trevor Pfaender also managed doubles each. Wick, Barrutia and Pfaender also had 2 hits each and Joe Belford earned the win by giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits, walking 5 and striking out 6 Tomcats in 5 innings.
