Long Grove Chocolate Festival this weekend
Residents and visitors alike are invited to indulge in irresistible, luscious chocolate this weekend at Long Grove's Chocolate Festival.
The weekend is filled with limitless chocolaty treats from chocolate-dipped strawberries and doughnuts to brownies and fudge, live music, great food and distinctive shopping, all in the charming setting of historic downtown Long Grove. Destinations include Long Grove Confectionery and Ma and Pa's Candy.
There will be an array of chocolate specials from beers, wines and martinis to sauces, olive oils and desserts at the local restaurants and specialty shops. Guests can stroll through town and enjoy live music, while children enjoy plenty of activities. Activities include rock climbing, obstacle courses, pony and kiddie rides.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, May 2-4.
Chocolate tasting tickets that allow visitors to select different chocolate tastings offered by participating merchants throughout town are $5.
Tickets may be purchased at the Visitors' Center, 308 Old McHenry Road, (847) 634-0888. Kids 12 and under are free. The event is held rain or shine.
